do you think mental health helplines should have limits on how much you can call
i suffer a lonely existence and the only real helpful helpline to me is the samaritans, because they are all ordinary volunteers on there, and they support you emotionally, not just technically there for the suicidal.....the only downside to it now they put on a strict limit on how much you can ring, when they never used to, you used to be able to ring all the time if you wanted.
but now, you ring too many times, perhaps because the loneliness is getting to you, and you need to hear a human voice on the end of the line- and they bar you for months, so you're blocked from calling for about 6 months i think.
do you think that's fair? - also ive lived alone 20 years in a little flat with no social contacts or support besides my elderly mum who lives far away.
