what to do when you struggle to keep your place tidy because of having mental health problems

i only live in a small flat on the 3rd floor of a 4 story block, lived here 20 years....and at the moment it's very cluttered with stuff and untidy, lots of things strewn around, and its's quite messy....and i feel 'overwhelmed' as to how i'm going to tackle it as i have mental problems which cause me to feel lethargic and lacking energy.....when my mother visits at christmas, she will be upset with me and concerned if i don't manage to tidy my place up.......as she brought me up to be clean and tidy.

any help?

Clutter busting

1) Rubbish - no excuses straight in the bin outside

2) keeping it - find a storage space for it and put it away out of sight. Start with washing and putting all clean clothes away in the wardrobe.

3) donating it - get it out of your flat as soon as possible if it's good, but you don't need it.

If there's too much to tackle in one go, do 1/2 or even a 1/4 of the room.

But do something!! That's better than doing nothing.
