I think there is still a stigma when it comes to mental health issues and taking medications for them.

If you had high blood pressure, you would take a med for that. If you were Diabetic then you would treat it with medication.

Why wouldn’t you treat a mental health condition with medication if it’s going to improve your life?
@iamonfire696 for me, part of it is me. my mental illness brain tells me I don’t want it and don’t need it. I’ve flushed my meds, so many times. My wife only gives me a week at a time, just in case.

@JustGoneNow I get that. We only give my Mom her meds for the day for this reason and we watch her take them.
@iamonfire696 it sucks. I hate being treated like a baby, but I get why.

@JustGoneNow I understand especially when you’re doing well. It’s because you’re loved and you’re family only wants the best for you.
@iamonfire696 I know. It’s just hard being like this.
@iamonfire696 my wife sends me stuff like this, though. I love her so much and am so grateful for her love and support.

@JustGoneNow I see my Mom struggle too with schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, CPTSD, early onset dementia and now we are dealing with breast cancer.

I make her medical decisions but I don’t know your struggles with your mental health, I can only imagine because I see what my Mom and Husband deal with. I have struggles with my physical health but it’s not the same.

I wish things could be easier for you though 💜.
