@Convivial that’s exactly why I try to be understanding at first, even when I feel like someone is being a dick. This TED talk literally changed how I talk to people online.

Sometimes (most times) I think it's a matter of 'you can't fire me, I quit!' They feel unworthy of being liked and set out to prove they're not likable so they can't be disappointed. It's sad, really.

It easy for people to be “brave” and bowed up hiding behind a keyboard.

My take on them is that they are actually afraid of their shadow. They come here with a “I’ll show them” attitude because they don’t have the courage to stand up for themselves in the real world.

I feel sorry for them really. How sad to live in fear and with such an ugly heart.

Yes. I’ve noticed that.
For example, when people post something positive, like a photo of a craft or a meal, something they worked on, and another person comes in [b]just[/b] to make a crappy comment. What did that soul gain, other than letting everyone know they’re jerks ? Good job. 🙄

They have gaps in their lives and seek to fill them with false bravdo and self seeking power. Unfortunately the filling is short lived and breaksdown. When it does it makes the gap wider so next time it takes more to fill..

@MeowsoliniReturns I was on a chat site one time and first thing this girl starts calling me so many curse words. I replied “You can make more friends if you talk nice to people.” She started apologizing profusely. Poured her heart out. Her family had moved to a different city and she lost all of her old friends from her home city and felt lost at her school. Was having a difficult time adjusting. Then found out her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and was dying. I talked gently to her for about a half hour and then told her about my childhood…how many times my family moved due to my father being mental and jerking us back and forth. Went to 6 different elementary schools before moving to a place where we stayed till I was grown. And 4 close relatives dying within a year and a half from the time I was 12-13 years old. She kept apologizing for cursing me but I just wanted her to know that others also suffer, we aren’t alone and that we should show compassion for others.

@MeowsoliniReturns I’m glad I answered her curses the way I did. It would have been much different had I started cussing her back wouldn’t it? What I said about making friends touched her right in her heart.
