Ah, a treat even Gordon Ramsay would cave to.

Don't ask. Hoping someone got a giggle out of it.
I don't have much of a purpose, but being the reason someone smiles or even rolls their eyes seems enough to make me feel accomplished these days. It's the little things.

Reminds me of my Siciliy trip. My wife-- the daughter of Sicilian immigrants -- and I took her aunt -- who was born here -- with us. Every where we went, all she wanted for breakfast was toast. And of course made with pasty white wonder bread that no European would touch. We finally stayed at a British hotel in Taormina and they had one of those toasters with a continually running belt. But it was broken. And everywhere we went she complained they didn't know how to cook Sicilian. It was like going to China and telling them they don't cook Chinese because chop suey isn't on the menu.
@dancingtongue I mean. Damn. Toast is good, but if you're on a trip like that, you gotta expand the palate and try the local cuisine. I'll go to Mexico and tell them they don't cook Spanish food because it's not Taco Bell. Lol.

@MemoirsOfTheDamned Exactly. But then as Spaniards will tell you, Mexicans don't cook Spanish food. And voce versa.

The best toast is fresh homemade yeast bread sliced up and spread with soft butter and toasted under a broiler. It is a delight.
@cherokeepatti Sounds really good :)

@NativePortlander1970 I made yogurt cheese by accident in the early 80’s after winning a yogurt maker in a sweepstakes. I had pushed one of the cups of yogurt to the back of top shelf and it sat there for a couple weeks and the lid had gotten pushed off. I found it and so much of the water had evaporated that it was about half as much what was originally in it. It didn’t have any mold and it smelled OK so I took a spoon and tasted it. Reminded me of a cross between sour cream and cream cheese .So I started making it by putting a coffee filter in a flat-bottom colander pan and letting it drain for a day in the refrigerator. Used it on toast, yum. Then about 20 years later I saw Martha Stewart making it on her tv show and she acted like she invented it. 😂
@cherokeepatti We used to make yoghurt cheese when I was a kid, my Dad often mixed home made fruit compote in with it to spread on English muffins.
Slightly charred..

It used to be very popular, but now it's just toast.
@FreddieUK I suppose you could say it's popularity and reputation are... Toast 😏 ba dum tss.
Needs more butter!
@MicrowaveDinner Yes Chef! I'll remember the 3 sticks worth next time. Lol
Where's the Vegemite 😏
@metaldog After being scarred for life by vegemite, I'll just put extra on yours lol.

I like Gordon Ramsay and I eat butter toast
Jexie · 26-30, F
@MemoirsOfTheDamned Whoa never thought about that
RedBaron · M
@Jexie Ramsay seems like a huckster.
Jexie · 26-30, F
@RedBaron I've seen him on plenty different shows. He's very nice to people when he's travelling to check different countries cuisines. But I know most people have a problem with him
looks good, need little jam,
@jackrabbit10 Next time I have toast, I'll try it. I'm not usually a jam person-- more of a butter with sugar and cinnamon person-- but blackberry jam could be a pleasant alternative.
@jackrabbit10 I got hives just looking at that. Strawberries are one of my allergies lol.

What’s so elite about toast?
@RedBaron Toast is great, but it's just a meme.
RedBaron · M
@MemoirsOfTheDamned What’s up with Gordon Ramsay?
@RedBaron Oh. It's because he's a well known chef that is pretty good at his skill. But the right cooked toast could make anyone cave. Haha. The joke is more in the way it's worded to seem like such an elegant and well prepared dish.

No fookin Marmite?!
@Azlotto No, Chef! Lol

yeay toast ❤
After Ramsay's quite juvenile antics a few years ago on the Hot Ones, I have zero respect for him...[media=https://youtu.be/U9DyHthJ6LA]
@NativePortlander1970 I do believe they act that way for the camera. Not sure about Puck, but Ramsay says some of the kindest things about his wife and family on social media. I know it's been said he's hard on the people of his shows to push them to do better. Not sure how true that is. Kind of disappointed in hearing Puck is a jackass to his staff, but not surprised.

A lot people in the spotlight act as though they have no home training. The amount of celebrities I've seen acting reprehensible never fails to disappoint. But not just them. People in general. Hard to respect too many these days.
@MemoirsOfTheDamned Even off camera Ramsay is a prick to his staff. Puck, as well as Emeril, are both super humble on and off camera, they truly appreciate their fans as well as their employees at their restaurants.
@NativePortlander1970 I like Emeril. BAM! And his one seasoning called Baby Bam lol
