@PatKirby this literally happened to me in basic training, I have never been good at throwing
@PatKirby it doesnt look like a big explosion when one of those fragmentation grenades goes off, but I felt the ground shake when it went off....I felt like it was very dangerous

Were you excited? How many seconds before it went off?
@PatKirby I feel like it was a second but that might have been because my drill sergeant tackled me
@PatKirby I was terrified all the way up to the time I threw it, I knew it was dangerous but when I felt the ground tremble then my idea was confirmed
@PatKirby drill sergeant is such a dangerous occupation actually....there was another part where we were live firing staggering from cover to cover and several soldiers were fucking idiots and I wouldnt have been surprised if someone had been shot in this exercise before
@PatKirby also basic training itself was a powder keg of anger and testosterone...I myself hit someone with my weapon in a fight
@PatKirby I know none of this sounds real but you dont even know that it gets even more ridiculous when I talk about afghanistan.
@PatKirby this is why I dont talk to people much in person anymore, nobody knows all the crazy stuff Ive done and even when I tell people they definitely dont believe it, but it happened
once my ex wife drove through the middle of a drop zone while we were jumping out of an airplane for example
@PatKirby because I gave her the wrong directions to watch the jump
@goneNow6565 the name of the first jumper on my first parachute jump ever was named Jumper and he was kicked out of the airplane
@goneNow6565 so much stuff happened

She needed a lot more throwing practice with dummy grenades. 🙄

So much happened to you, I don't doubt it. My uncle served two voluntary tours in Vietnam and started talking about it only recently. Vent on brother man!

Btw I work at an army base, at work now. Shit happens here too.

Crazy stuff like about once a year we get some loco try speeding through the front gate and soldiers shoot them. You'd think the staggered cement dividers zigzagging left to right would stop them. Nope.
