Remember, your mistakes are eternal and everyone will remember them and laugh about them behind your back FOREVER

Top | New | Old
No mistakes are eternal. They're just what happened in those moments in time. And, people don't even care about your mistakes, only you do. Most people are so self-absorbed, the only thing they care about is how they look to you. If someone is carrying anything about you behind your back, it's their business, not yours. So, don't even think about it. Your job is to satisfy you, not them.

@PhoenixPhail Yes please understand this post was meant with the purest and most wholesome sarcasm. It's more about pointing out how anxious thoughts don't do us any favours.

You think people think of you that much?

You keep saying this is ironic, but we still talk about Hegelochus.

In the 5th century BCE, in the performance of a play, he made a slight pronunciation mistake, resulting in the meaning of the line being communicated not as "after the storm I see again a calm sea", but as "after the storm I see again a weasel". He used the wrong tonal inflection. He was mocked to the point of quitting acting forever, and here I am in 2023 CE discussing it as the only reason we know the man's name.

If my mistakes are eternal then it stands to reason my accomplishments and victories are too.

I like to tell people different tales about myself. So when they gossip about me behind my back they'll argue.

Lmao 😆 my tween was informed at the scout meeting on Thurs night her pants had split.
This poor kid's mind took it and ran "OH MY GOD MOM, WHAT IF NO ONE TOLD ME AT SCHOOL ALL DAY!?!?" as you could see the wheels turning envisioning the social suicide.

Apparently a shrug and a "well, so what if they did, not a whole lot you can do. It'll be OK. Everyone has a butt" was not the right parental response. 🤷‍♀️ I'm not helpful.
