Anyone get a steroidal shot?

Sister just got one in her shoulder..shes had awful pain there for months. Shes diabetic but they said the steroid shouldn't raise sugar too much as its going into joint, not bloodstream. Question is, her sugars are going lo we er...anyone know of this Kenalog shot? It had something else in it too, and they gave lidocaine to numb area. Any experience with it, or blood sugars?
Ps..this is being asked generally , not an ONLY source of medical info.

I am diabetic and got a huge rash attack recently. They gave me a batch like 6 pills first day and decrease one each day until done.. it is working!
Well since stress can raise sugar then lowering the stress from pain could drop it some. But just keep monitoring it. If it goes too low there is def something wrong. But in general it shouldn't drop too much.

@canusernamebemyusername your reasoning is interesting, but there is very little evidence for what you suggest. If the blood sugar is elevated because of stress, removing stress might normalize the blood sugar, but will not drop blood sugar further. The body controls the blood sugar levels with a very interesting interaction between various hormones and enzymes. For every action there is a potential reaction "designed" to keep blood sugar levels stable.

I would definitely ask a professional.

what goes into the joint does get absorbed into the blood. It is unlikely that a single dose, and relatively low, would cause much of a spike in her blood sugar.

@samueltyler2 I also thought, even if its going into joint, it would go into bloodstream...maybe they meant it wont be as MUCH, as if it were to go into muscle? But shes just concerned if the shot is making her sugar go lower..but I diubt it.

@Coralmist it wouldn't drop her sugar level.

@Coralmist if it's been months I would assume the shot is not the issue. If it was recent, like a week or so then I would be concerned.
