fun fact, the bar code scanner at the store uses MATH!

Raaii · 22-25, F
it was always a favourite
So sad tht I failed to keep it and now I'm on another path
popmol · 26-30, M
@Raaii do what you like, don't listen to others!
what colour does red mean with your emotions? anger? love? embarrassment? shy?
Raaii · 22-25, F
@popmol I was told that red is not good for me
Like it's unlucky
But these days everythng is going wrong with m life
Like all bad
So if it's already like this then it can't get any worse
And I accept it all
I've accepted tht life will always be troublesome no matter what
I like red

@Raaii that's good, accepting such stuff and making it wash over can be quite helpful!

What's fun about this particular fact?

@SW-User what kind of fun facts do you like?

@popmol facts that are actually fun
popmol · 26-30, M
@SW-User keep it vague why don't you!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Errr, well, probably just arithmetic rather than maths, but why are you surprised or amused it does?
popmol · 26-30, M
@ArishMell because its something you don't think about, but how does the machine read the barcode at any angle!
it's cause it calculates, because at every angle the comparison in space remains the same!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@popmol Thankyou!

Yes - one of those things now so everyday we have come to take them for granted even if not knowing how they work!

I have noticed the reader sometimes struggles, usually where the code is on a very irregular surface such as a plastic bag around vegetables.
popmol · 26-30, M
@ArishMell indeed! because that messes with the lines and then it can't calculate! we learned this in math where depending on the angel if 2 distances stay the same the comparison is the same! like 1/4 and 1/3 at an angle would be 2/8 and 2/6. so its the same, then you do this over many lines and it will know the sequence of 1/4 1/9 1/2 1/6 means this product or a number to the product!
popmol · 26-30, M
@OnePatheticClown satan is good at math!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Isn't that obvious....?
