Buddha says there's no such thing as a soul. We are a pinch of energy in the field of buddhanature smothered in karma. I would call that a soul. What we think and feel is a product of our brain and that ends when we die. And our brains are notorious liars.

No on the second question. Apparently the heart has it’s own kind of system that’s like a brain. 🧐 Guess that’s why the heart and actual brain conflict.

@SW-User sorry. Hearts just circulates our blood around our bodies.

@cycleman You could look it up. That’s all I’ll say.

@SW-User I googled it ....The right side of your heart receives oxygen-poor blood from your veins and pumps it to your lungs, where it picks up oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide. The left side of your heart receives oxygen-rich blood from your lungs and pumps it through your arteries to the rest of your body.

This is a tough one. I'd really like to think we have a soul. Simply because then we go to heaven and live on. But if the soul is the only way of understanding the conscience then I guess its sad to think when the brain dies that's it.
But like I mentioned to someone here, there have been stories from organ recipients that claim they have a connection to the previous person, manifesting in sayings or new preferences for food, or just a overwhelming feeling of what the person was like.
The body is a complex thing and I think we are only 10% if not less into really understanding what exactly is going on.
I personally cant give a clear answer on this subject matter.

If it’s not science, it’s superstition.
After we’re conceived, it’s all chemical reactions. Especially hormones.

Dunno. I cant prove if they do or not. It's nice to think I have a soul, tho
