Miss you a lot my friend

Seven years ago today, 9/30/18, my 21 year old wonderful, bubbly, caring cousin was found in a tree, she had taken her own life , senior year of college.🥺 It was simply devastating. No signs at all. Very outgoing, part of every club, social endeavors. And a great athlete. But looking back, we remembered she said she didn't feel good enough in her teen years. She was adopted and I wonder if that had any role.🙁

She was similar to me that she was a true people pleaser, and was so outgoing, that's why it was a shock. It's a toxic feeling that you have to constantly DO OR BE EVERYTHING for everyone. I miss her a lot. We went to lunch a few months before she passed and I'm SO Happy we did. I'll never forget her warm smile as we laughed. And I remember she ordered a strawberry salad. I'd give anything to have been with her that early morning, to have told her no matter WHAT was happening in life, she'd be ok and that she was worth it.

Adopted children and adults often carry an inner sense of rejection around with them, a sense that they are unlovable and not good enough. There's a primal wound when a child is separated from a birth mother, even if those reasons are for good reasons and the protection of the child. They might also struggle to attach to future caregivers and that can impact relationships all the way throughout life. I'm so sorry about your loss. Sing a song for her. You have such a beautiful voice.

One thinks that we know people because we interact with them but deep inside, there is a part of everyone we don't know.

Your cousin did the ultimate sacrifice because she did not feel at ease and one always believes that one should have seen those things coming.

Life is full of surprises, good and bad. I am sorry for your loss but the good memories will never die. Those good memories are the ones that you want to remember while the bad ones will be overshadowed.

21 is still so young, a person who had her whole life ahead of her. Being beautiful inside and out is never taken into account. Suicide can rear its ugly head and suck you in like you are nothing. My heart weeps for her. She is a child of God and heaven will take care of her, where she will not hurt any more. I am so sorry, my condolences for your loss🫂🫂

@urbancowboy Thank you for such kind words 🪻 I often think how she'd be nearly 30 now and how much life she'd live...some days I'm in disbelief because it's not right she's not here. She was such a wonderful person 😟
Thank you again 🫂
