No. It's all just a fairytale and there's never any happily ever after.

Love is actually a commitment and yes it does happen for some people.
If you rely on happy butterfly feelings that never fade you will probably be disappointed.
Love hurts sometimes.
People disappoint, people screw up, problems arise.
But when you truly love someone you commit to them and you ride out those storms together.
Love gives more than it takes.
Not everyone can commit to that kind of love.

In Chicago, there's a street called Green Bay road. Follow it north out of Chicago, and you'll reach Evanston; keep going north and you'll pass through Wilmette, then Kenilworth, and then you'll reach Winnetka, and at 38 Green Bay road in that town, you'll find Captain Nemo's, an assuming sub shop. And added to their menu a decade and change ago is the Balboa sandwich, a heavenly mix of turkey, ham, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and the most wonderful sauce, made from French dressing, barbecue sauce, and Giardineria juice. It's basically "heartburn, the sandwich", but it stays with you. In my darkest economic days, when I woke up to find bugs crawling over my hands, and my reaction wasn't disgust or sorrow at how far my situation had fallen, but delight at the discovery of not merely a source of free calories but free protein, I would fall asleep and dream of that sandwich. Yes, true love really, genuinely exists.
Oh, wait, did you mean between people?

Yes it does. But it doesn’t t come easy and requires more maintenance than an American built car.

You never had a sausage McMuffin?

Sure it exists .. but its not easy to find .. can be even harder to sustain. It takes the right two people, putting in the effort, staying curious about and choosing each other in each new season of their lives.
GoFish · 41-45, F
it exists but there's a lot of imposters too

Maybe true love does exist, but sometimes it comes at the wrong time or in the wrong circumstances Some feelings are real even when they can never become a reality 😔
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
I think it does, but it depends on the people involved.

No.
And the contemporary version that passes for it has proven to be 1) conditional, 2) short lived, and 3) bottom of the barrel low quality.
Thank you, drive through.
