I loved the 3rd ex very much, in the early days of our relationship. It's hard to believe, but when he became abusive I still loved him. And after 25 years together, when I left him, I still loved him. But I am VERY relieved and happy that I never have to see him again.

I think that if you love someone like that, that deeply, they'll always have a place in your heart that no one else could ever move into.
I have a place in my heart like that and like you said, no matter what happened or didn't happen, that place will always belong to only him.

I agree that you always hold a place for them in your heart however the only path forward is to let them go. The universe has a plan for all of us and that love was needed to bring us where we are today. IMO. 💫

I agree with that. But being able to move on doesn’t mean you didn’t love them. That’s the only way those of us who are widowed can continue with our lives.

So true
I wonder if he feels the same for me. But I see some guys feel that way, so its possible

I concur. There is no such thing as "letting go" when they are a part of you.

I agree with this

I would like to say this is not true but it is.
No but you can move on ..

Yeah…no. There’s no chasm in my body deep enough for them.

Unless the thought of them repulses you now 🤢

No. You just learn to work around the hole.
