Singles: Do you ever wonder why you never married?

Does it ever bother you? Do you wonder if you'd be happier?

I have 2 handsome 😸 and I'm grateful to have them. They make me so happy. Every now and then I watch TV and think "I wonder why I didn't get married or have children."

I'm not going back though... I pick my kitties. 🤗

Well, being a student and investing all my time in my studies, I simply don't have the time to think of getting married.

It does not bother me the least not to be married. As a matter of fact, I believe that I am married to my university. Bad deal I know but who does not make mistakes in life, right? Mea culpa.

@Stephie You're so young. I did exactly as you at your age. Good for you! Maybe I should have directed this toward people in mid 30's or so.

Dont experience mutual desire often. Simple as that

I don't want to get married as my parents getting divorced when I was 12 in 1980 effed it for me. Plus the realities of modern dating make women view relationships as business transactions all about getting access to the man's money where sex is just a 'service' not something wonderful to be shared between two people.

Because I have bad luck with women it seems. When I like them they don't like me (or aren't' single) and when they like me I don't like them lol.
It's is hard for me to trust people in general.
I don't want to get married to the wrong person.

I was married once for 2 years. I did everything I could to be a good and supportive husband. Apparently was not enough I came home from my second deployment to Afghanistan and found her in bed with a day trader. Because apparently he made more money than Marines do. But instead of losing my cool I just packed my s*** and went back for a third. I never looked back. It has been over 20 years and I have never remarried

I always wanted a wife and kids, but i could never make it happen.

I don't really know, it was the traumas I was carrying.. meeting the wrong people and not wanting the right ones, because traumas.
I think that's the main reason.
And next to it is an immense wish for freedom..
Rudboy41 · 41-45, M
Thats an easy one, some of us are not meant to be happy. The marriage bug never got a chance to bite me, i could've gotten unhappily married to the ex but she wanted more than i was willing/able to give. She wanted to be just a home-maker but let me pull all the weight of responsibilities myself.

Before her there was just long distance flings and love on-the-run, so between all the dead-end relationships and time it took scraping together a career that allowed me to have my weekends to myself again, i never got a chance to meet anyone special.

I have been married for almost 40 years and sometimes wish I was single but in truth I wouldn't change it. We have two children who certainly add some meaning to my life. Life without them would be very different.
I know why. But I'm ready now.
