Israel is killing civilians by accident as they seek to destroy hamas. neither is good but hamas will continue to kill no matter what, which is why they must be destroyed. the idiots are those who support hamas and who are anti-semetic

@Rainandforest Israel is held to a higher standard. It's OK if half a million people were killed in the Syrian civil war as that's just Arabs killing other Arabs, so who cares. Or the Chinese putting a million Uyghur Muslims in concentration camps, hey, they're blocking the Belt and Road Initiative, big deal. It's only a problem if Israel defends itself against people who don't think it should exist and that every Jew in the world should be killed.

Scratch that for now. Who are "they?" If you mean Ethiopian Jews, then yes, they were discriminated against in Ethiopia, but do you have any idea how Ethiopian Jews are treated in Israel? I've observed it, but here's what Pew said is 2016: https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2016/03/08/anti-semitism-and-discrimination/ and the situation only got much worse as more Orthodox North American Jews arrive in Israel.

And overall, Arab countries are racist to their core. In some Arab counties, the term for a black person is "Abed" meaning slave. Is this the bar that should be set? This is really mind boggling.

It's one thing for someone to offer a woman contraception, and another to illicitly include it in their diet, and have a secret program to hide it. Well, it's all in the open now.

@BlueGreenGrey Why is Israel the only ethnostate whose existence is questioned? I don't see anyone saying we can't have a Palestinian state because it would be an ethnostate. Holding Israel to a unique standard and saying the only solution is its destruction is antisemitic even if that makes you uncomfortable.

We should also try to agree on a definition of Zionism. The original meaning was support for the establishment of a Jewish state in what is now Israel. Once that state was established, Zionism became moot. Nobody calls themselves a Spainist or Canadaist as once a country is established, it's taken for granted that it should continue to exist even if it engages in activities that people might disapprove of.

The meaning of Zionism has morphed into "support for the IDF to steal Palestinian land and kill Palestinians with impunity." So of course people are going to say they're not "Zionists." If you're talking about Jews in Israel who don't think Israel should exist, most of these are Neturai Karta cult members, who believe that the "real Israel" can't come into being until the Messiah arrives, so since that hasn't happened yet, according to them, the current state of Israel is an impostor. I don't take those people seriously any more than I take seriously the Dominionists in the US who say the country was founded on "Biblical principles."

War sucks. But people are paying 1000x more attention to this war than they did to the Syrian civil war or the ongoing war in Yemen, where far more Arabs are being killed by their fellow Arabs. I'm sure you have plenty of talking points as to why Israel is so much worse.

You wouldn't tell a Black person what racism was, but everyone seems entitled to tell Jews what antisemitism is.
