It's almost an impossibility today. Social media tells us that our grass will never be green enough. The moment that anyone senses the tiniest hint of a rocky road, people bail.
Love also takes many forms... it may bring you to your knees, and you may have asked it to do this to you, and you learn inside yourself all who taught you love, as you couldn't see without them, you really only found meanings in yourself you needed from them. You may leave, you may find a disguise away from how it hurt, but even each breath of that moment looking back is holding onto love and being in love. Love doesn't mean being with the person forever, it means loving who they were to you, and seeing their life take meaning upon yours, and your life take meaning upon theirs. The unspoken parts say, both are always there.
@Soossie The only gift of life I truly feel is finding love. I see some who pain over lost love, and I do, but no matter how far down grief, or regret, they can be so much alike in emotion, somewhere my heart sees the love they gave even when it hurts me. I'd ask for nothing different ever, let them spurn my heart, let them flourish in my heart, let them... and they will. It was in what they gave me. The trick is also moving on when you know in your heart they would want you to, too.. Those who love, to me, also want to see those they loved filling their life with love.
Very true, otherwise happiness would not be complete in their heart …

@Soossie I love these words, even if I'm one who sometimes wonders what happiness means in completing the heart.... but I do know, it comes from being true, vulnerable, loving who you love with your heart, my heart would be lost at my age for not having felt. I think this song is titled well by Cohen, but it's only titled, 'What Happens To The Heart.'
Love isn't the same as in love. "In love" is an intense but temporary state of being. Who wouldn't feel amazing while being constantly flooded with oxytocin?:) Most people never make it past that part.
@Soossie Finding true love is the only thing I've ever really wanted. Not that it's better or worse, but I find I live in such a different world than most other people (my upbringing had everything to do with that), it's very difficult to find someone close enough to my vibrational vicinity to find a good match. However, when I DO find that match, I know it will be forever. Actually, it already IS forever. I just haven't found her yet. 🤗🤗
