I don't get why people say they will "love you forever" when they clearly don't mean it?

Like seriously. I don't get it. Every woman that has said this to me left for trumped up reasons shortly thereafter. Lmfao. It's not a gender related thing either.

It's so bad that I have gotten to the point where I start counting the days as soon as a hear that. Holy shit, it's like clock work.

Find me a woman who won't tell me she loves me, and I will marry her in a heartbeat! Hahaha.

Geeze.

I fear I will end up a serial monogomist. Oh well. Se la vie. There are worst fates out there.

Once you get numb to it... It's kind of fun, right? I guess...

Being a hopeless romantic is shit.

yeah. i find those comments creepy. "love you forever", "you're my world" we're soulmates"

if you've only been dating for a short term i find them more creepy than sweet. that intense a feeling too quickly is quite off puting and seems... i wanna say fake, hollow? can't think of a better way of saying it.

Yup. The faster they try to claim you, the faster they flake out.

I think there are those of us that are so sensitive and loving, all love inside. It’s special and they see that, but they aren’t with you, not emotionally. They can’t love you like you need.

They just say it for the emotional state of the moment, don't mind them.

@Darksideinthenight2 yeah that's different doesn't seem to be said lightly.
SW-User
@Darksideinthenight2 but if they say that without knowing the person even with good intentions could change their mind

It’s entirely possible that they sincerely meant it when they said it. A lot of people romanticize what real love is. They think they know what it is, but they don’t.

I think my wife meant it, and she has done nothing to make me doubt it.
If I heard that f word I'd be concerned too
Ich liebe dich.

As you say, it's not gender specific. Men are masters of saying all that crap they never mean too.
caccoon · 36-40
Of course they don't.

It's unreasonable for you to even believe it wouldn't be a possibility for them to leave you.

Things change. People change.

@GeistInTheMachine Nah, give yourself time in between. Single life is amazing. Enjoy yourself and life. So much more than romantic relationships

@caccoon Good advice. Let's see. When I get bored someone always pops up again or someone new surprises me.
caccoon · 36-40
@GeistInTheMachine I feel that. But giving yourself time seems to be fulfilling. At least, for me.
