Do you have a beautiful memory of anyone who had passed?

I remember my late grandmother today and it put a warm smile on my face.
My grandmother was a coffee lover. Not just any coffee, but those freshly roasted and grinded.
She would carry me on her back as we walked to a small town while passing through a narrow lane.
After buying some freshly grind coffee powder, she would buy me a doll or a candy as I wished before we headed home.
I miss the wonderful time we chitchatting home happily, just to have a cup of coffee with some biscuits waffles with her.
It brings tiny tears but it's the best I could ever ask for.
Ah-Mah, I love you ❤️

My daughter passed 2 years ago. She was always there for me and could make me smile and laugh. She had a great sense of humor. I miss her greatly.

@IM5688 such beautiful memory...

I have beautiful childhood memories of my grandmother, tinged with bitterness, because of uncaring things she said to my mum about me later in life. In some ways, I wish my mum had never told me, because then those memories could have remained forever unspoiled. Maybe it's best to know the truth though,,,and I hope someday I will understand why I needed to know this.
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@SW-User you will appreciate it someday

@SweetyLynn I do appreciate the memories themselves. I just wish I knew why they had to be spoiled.

My grandmother.

She would sit with me and feed me food when I was younger. She took care of me at a time when I was all sick. She was almost closer to me as a mother. I miss her so much.

My dad was like a warden and she'd help me escape plus chill with me as I played videogames. She means a lot to me and I miss her so much.
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@Beatbox34 Exactly. My grandmother fed me too, then she even played my cooking set w me and interpreted some black & white Malay movie which she enjoyed for me.
Those are really the best things ever....

My wife passed late last year.... I remember her laugh... Telling me off for something silly.. The hugs n kisses..
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@braveheart21 I maybe a passer-by but I'm totally human. Hugs to both 🥰🤗
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@braveheart21 Not sure if it's just in the movies. I do envy those who had every special moment captured in videos.
If only there's a recording of those visions in my mind, I'd like to have it in videos so that I could share with my children, and any future generations to come 😂😆

I have 9 voice msgs from my wife that she left when she was in hospital about a week before her passing... They were for her best friend but she just pressed redial on her phone and they came to me... Its heartbreaking but i can hear soft sad voice anytime... Even if only for a couple of minutes... @SweetyLynn

My dad kissing me goodbye in the hallway when I was 8, never seen him again 🥺

So many lovely memories of my grandma 🥰

My cousin, she was like my older sister, we had so many laughs together, her death was so hard to accept. Too young to die 😭
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@Fairydust big hugs dear. I know how you feel.
HellsBelle · 31-35, F
not really. my dad was an alcoholic and died an alcoholic. my only nice memory is when he made us hotdog slices mixed with mac and cheese. and donuts he bought every weekend during a 3 month AA session.
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@HellsBelle I'm sorry your dad's addiction wasn't cured. But I could see that he did still took care of you.
I'm sure those mac & cheese were pretty good too. Do you still make them just like how he did it?

One of the reasons why I believe in an afterlife, is this. There must be another opportunity to meet our loved ones again.
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@SW-User That's a good thing to believe in. I do dream of my grandmother now and then. In our beliefs, it's like a sign to tell or request for something. Then it will keep me busy, but happily fulfilling what was being asked.
The feeling is great though others may find it strange. Do you believe in those too?
SW-User
@SweetyLynn Indeed.
TexChik · F
Yes my adoptive parents
TexChik · F
@SweetyLynn They were everything to me , and me to them . They never intended to get attached , they just wanted to help me . But we fell for each other
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@TexChik just like soulmates. Many things unspoken but fully understood. Such strong connection richer than blood and fresh. You're very very lucky.

I now keep a photo of my maternal grandmother right next to my laptop. She is holding me on her lap, and she is surrounded by four others of her 15 grandchildren in the photo. She passed away when I was ten years old, but she was one of the few adults who would spend time with me, teaching me how to make pies and cinnamon twists. I remember her funny sweetness, and her kindness to me.

I remember getting out of the car after a 2000 mile journey almost every year of my childhood, and shouting, "Grandma!!!!", and she would kneel down with her arms wide open, to give me a big hug.
SweetyLynn · 41-45, F
@4meAndyou Beautiful!!!

My grandpa, he passed when I was 12 but he was the best. A big burly man with the kindest heart.
