I Love to Write

Anyone have any advice for writers block? I've been trying to get the plot down for the novel I'm writing and I'm also trying my hand at spoken poetry and I'm just coming up blank. Also, how does one become better at using imagery? I read some poems and I just can't fathom how they come up with some of the images and phrases that they do.

Any advice would be appreciated! I really want to finally complete a piece of work and be proud of it.

Write about writers block. In any genre and or paper

Like an essay, article or say... a dissertation.

That helps me.

That can be a tough thing to tackle. Try a technique for a little and see if it works. If it doesn't, try something else. What works for one might not work for another.

If you're wanting to get out a story, I might say sit yourself down and force yourself to finish writing. Don't give yourself an easy escape.
I am no professional writer, but, I tend to think in metaphors a lot - my friend calls me a poet, but I didn't know what she was talking about until she explained it. Try thinking more metaphorically, would be my advice. :D

The harder you try the harder it gets. Jot down a note or two, something you'd like to write about. And just let it go where it wants. Use your imagination. When something comes to you jot it down.
