Can't say I have faced the same because I and both of my partners -- who held different views on somethings than I -- also recognized that from the beginning, were seeking mates to complement us (not replicate us), and communicated well. Except for the dying and leaving me parts. 😰

The questions I have are:

1. Have you sat down and communicated with your partner how you feel judged from the way he reacts to your preferences? A calm, non-judgmental argument over whose tastes are better, but how you feel towards the way he reacts? And if he says he is only teasing and not being judgmental, have you told him that is not the way you have received it?

2. If that conversation has not been possible without a mediator, have you sought couples counseling?

3. Have you researched soft landing spots in case this can't be resolved? Physically, financially, socially? Don't make such a major move in a spur of the moment emotional reaction. Have a back-up plan in place.

Is this relationship worth keeping if it means losing yourself?

Sounds like you’ve made efforts that haven’t been reciprocated. You’re correct that it’s not healthy long term.

Choose yourself and move on. Any further effort is basically sunk cost at this point. Continue to reach out to friends and process. That’s both in person and internet friends 😎. Wishing you all the positive vibes.
