Do you feel you have no one?

If you needed to really talk, or had an issue, or needed help irl etc too?

I might need to live alone soon, and my sister who used to always be in my corner, is very ill. She can't help me physically and I feel a burden bringing anything to her because she is in severe awful daily pain. So I have not one person who can ever support me fully. My therapist says I need some support system, to join a group. But people seem so enmeshed in their own lives.
I wish life wasn't so arduous so much of the time.
Do you ever feel that? It feels terrifying facing life alone.

I worry about that. When we retired we moved away from all of our friends in Virginia and moved to Florida. We have acquaintances here, but no real friends. Both my wife and I are only children. We never had kids and all of our parents are gone. My wife is older than me and has had one health issue after the other for the past two years. On top of that she is also handicapped. I am fairly certain she will pass before me and at that point I will literally be alone with no one to help with anything.

@Musicman I'm sorry your wife is also going through health challenges. That in itself makes us all feel vulnerable more so than just everyday life sometimes. Maybe you will become a bit closer with your acquaintances sometime.

@Coralmist That would be nice. They all claim they will be there for us until I call. Then magically no one is available.
