I haven't had any issues with contrast and I've had quite a few CT scans and MRI with contrast. I guess I am lucky,

@SlippingAway only this one for me. Been hydrating all morning, need to flush it out.
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@WasEP Yes the hydration is important

I had a CT last week with contrast and had no issues. I think that's my third one, and I've had no problems.

Had it multiple times with no issues. But every individual is different, and obviously your immune system is sensitive to the contrast material. Why they tell you to hydrate a lot following it to flush it out as quickly as possible.

I won’t take that contrast anymore. I had severe reactions and had to be admitted to the hospital.
WasEP · 51-55, M
@tobynshorty oh no! Hope it was not too serious and all good. At least mine are just an inconvenience
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
@WasEP thank you. I had to spend the night and get other meds but I now know what I can’t take.
Havent had that done sorry

Drink lots of water
WasEP · 51-55, M
@Patriot96 got some electrolytes
I had six ct scans this year alone, the trick is to go pee before the scan, that way it doesn't feel like you have to piss yourself right afterwards, you won't, it just feels that way, the feeling quickly passes after a minute, as for the warm tummy and chest, that's the radioactive side effects.
