Thank you SWEEPS

Sometimes I have a fear that I feel shame over, like getting my blood pressure checked. I get super anxious which makes it go sky high!!!! Oh yeah!!!! 😫
I had posted about how nervous I'd be on my physical today, asking for tips and ideas. Thanks to everyone who was so kind and said I'd make it through. Sometimes it's so high, from panic, they do an EKG..ughh. today I asked to ONLY have it done at the end, and because we were chatting it was near normal!! I could feel myself getting a little nervous, so it wasn't in full normal range, but not sky high, phew!! Thanks again for your support 🪻💜🫂

Another thing is when they put the cuff on your arm and get the machine started they take your temperature across the forehead usually and then put the monitor on your finger for your pulse. Then they are talking to you while they do it. They are not supposed to be talking while they are doing it and too much is going on all at once because they want to save time scurrying from one patient to another. That is a huge part of the problem. I’m glad they got a good reading for you.

@cherokeepatti I agree, and it's the nurses rushing that often make me nervous. But they announce Let's take your blood pressure!! And I go into panic. My doctor now keeps talking calmly while getting the manual one (not auto cuff) and it's always much lower!! I was so relieved today.
