Good!
I am off today.
Also, I just got an award at work. They gave me 3 days off for free. So I will schedule more time off this summer!

@JoyfulSilence That's fabulous! Looks like you are going to keep your job after all. π

Well, they still have not announced their RIF plans, or even if there will be one.
So who knows.
I am in a mall now sitting on a couch researching apartments closer to my new office, which I will need to commute to next month. My lease is up in August so I might want to move closer.
The options are discouraging. Lack of supply, overpriced, fears of crime.

@JoyfulSilence Would it be worth it to stay where you are and commute?

I like my neighborhood, and all the local breakfast places know me well. They bring coffee to my table without me having to order it!

@JoyfulSilence That is definitely a bonus. How much extra commute time would you have if you stayed where you are?

Well, since 2020 my commute time has been ten seconds. I walk from one bedroom to another! π
Before then, it took maybe an hour and fifteen minutes to get to my office in DC. The train ride was a half hour.
At the new place, I am going to drive, to start (I can also take rail and Metro, as an alternate). I've done the drive on a Sunday, but did not time it. It was not too bad. But weekday traffic is horrible. I suspect I will have to get up really early and stop work really early. I can start work at 6 am and leave at 2:30, without taking leave or having to ask permission.
Right now, I work about 8:30 to 4:30. It will be a change!
