Omg I feel guilty!

I wasn’t thinking. I pulled up to an empty gas pump that hadn’t been used and started pumping gas for a moment until I realized I didn’t pay for it. I feel guilty because what if the person is just as poor as I am and really needed that gas. It was only $5. I panicked and drove away. Do you think I will get in trouble for it?Do they take pictures of liscense plates? I tried getting out of there fast but some guy was tryin to take a left when he couldnt. So I had to wait behind him which coulda given someone time?… I don’t recall the pump number or know what to say if I went back to try to explain. … ??? What do I do. 8 can’t afford to be in trouble right now

If it was already paid for maybe purchasing gas for someone else who can't afford it might ease your guilt

I doubt they would track you down for five dollars. Just be honest from this day forward. Pay for what you use and receive in the future..

1. Go back. If you have a cell phone, record both you & the clerk as you explain and pay the $5.

2. Call the police non-emergency line and ask what you should do.

Where I live, you have to pay first.

@Mamapolo2016 Yeh that’s how it is here too.. which is also why I feel guilty, cause I’m thinking someone paid for this.. The odd thing is is that there was no car there; the space was empty.

@MissNoahLenFoxx Okay, I understand. It happens. My dad once strolled out of a stationery store with a globe of the Earth on a stand without paying for it. (Although he paid for the envelopes.)

When he realized what he'd done, he immediately went back to the store and paid. When he asked, "Why didn't you say something?", the clerk said, "You seemed so confident!"
