@gingershuman he still doesn't believe me is the sad part
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@gingershuman Why would the boss ask why you wanted to take a day off? No manager ever asked me that in my over forty year career.

WillaKissing · 56-60
No see it as self-improvement of your life not infidelity. After all you would not be looking for a different job if your present one was paying and treating you for what you are worth to them, right.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@WillaKissing true.....but 20 years seems like a damn marriage.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Notanymore I know I was married once for only 11 years, but I was in the Army 27 years, and both the wife and the Army tried to kill me. One figuratively the other literally multiple times. Thanks be to God above that I am still here.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@WillaKissing Amen to that.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
I´ve been there.
It may feel so, yes. It´s fueled by our team spirit.
It´s not anyhow.
A job partnership is not of the same nature of a love one, IMO.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@Notanymore
True. But consider looking at it from the other extreme of your analogy.
We shoudn´t hope for a long marriage when there is "love" but no more being in love.
If there is something better, it´s time to say good bye.
Not because the "other one".
Cos IMO staying for what is not the best for both is a worst betrayal to the nature of relationships than leaving.
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@ElRengo fair point. It'll all work out the way it does in the end.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@Notanymore
Take it please with caution, is just the personal view I´ve learned after years of not so good experiences.
Not necessarily should be aplied to others.
It´s not only and perhaps not mainly about my own best interests.
I say.......be in love or leave.
So if a partnership or a job.
Would you prefer to stay?
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@CookieCrumbs I'm not indispensable. Just damn good
@Notanymore
They’ll figure it out without you. Don’t carry that burden of guilt if you have decided it’s time to move on.

It is really up to you on where you see yourself in the next few years.

If you are as good as you said you ar, wouldn’t you rather be compensated and appreciated for that?
Notanymore · 36-40, M
@CookieCrumbs that's why I'm going
Tres13 · 51-55, M
