Congratulations, do you have a publisher?
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 no. I’m looking for an illustrator
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful oh, good luck. Trying to get an un-solicited manuscript accepted for publication is very difficult.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 chances are I will have to self publish and self promote
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful that is rough way to get your book into the public. Do you have any contacts in publishing?.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 have a friend who is published , but I’m not worried. It’s just for fun and some education
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful i published one book, it was among the most grueling difficult experience of my life. I had a publisher, which, to some extent, made it worse.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 working with the wrong person on a project is like being married and can lead to challenging discourse. It’s almost like keeping a teenage band together. I’ve worked on creative projects with various types of people. Lots of lessons learned. So I know that success is hot or miss when it comes to entertainment.

@Mindful and n my case, the publisher changed my editor three times, soni had to educate three times. Then, when we agreed on the cruise ntent, it took almost a year to clear legal.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 well my book is definitely original. And I’ll be thanking and acknowledging my family plus 1 of my favorite supporters. Hmmmm 1year for legal? Possibly. I’ll have to check on that with my published friend. His book was also original.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 so how long was your book? I’ve always preferred writing short stories or producing short material. I don’t have the patience nor desire to write a book.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful the legal element had nothing to do with it being original, which mine was.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 the contract negotiation? Copywrite?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful no, i published a compilation of fictionalized medical stories. Unused some quotations from published media reports, they had ruled about how much could be quoted, even if the quotation was stated as being such, also although I changed names, they wanted to be sure the person would not recognize themselves. It was chaotic.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 ooooohhhh that is complicated!
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful you bet it was!
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 was it worth it?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful not financially, although I do collect a few hundred dollars every year, but I felt good finally getting it published. I hope it serves an educational purpose for others in the future.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 so it was of a. Serious nature. Mystery? Or medical?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful both.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 GREAT! I used to read those types way back… sorry… I can’t name any…
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful i was "raised" on Roueche's "The Medical Detectives" not murders, but, the investigation into someone lb ng medical.mysterirs. It is said the TV show House was based on it.
Mindful · 56-60, F

samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Mindful sorry, my fingers and auto fill screwed up. The book deals with episodes concerning unusual medical problems that were investigated.
Mindful · 56-60, F
