How quickly do you slip into the darkness?

How quickly do you slip into the darkness?

I can have a great day. Great interactions at work and at home. I get everything done that i need to get done.

But sometimes, my eyes get heavy. Everything just feels heavy. When I try to focus, I just feel nothing. I feel sad.

Then the male brain kicks in. Why? What can I do to fix this?

Nothing? Ok?

Is it ok?

Am I lonely? Can people hear me?

Thankfully sleep comes fast. I wake up not happy, but ready. The mist forgotten.
I envy you on that last line..

Sleep just doesn't come until it's too late and then I either collapse halfway through the day or trudge through it with unparalleled lethargy.

@Samael When I typed the line, I knew I was blessed. I know a lot of people like you that just can't sleep. It seems to double down on the problems.

I find myself in a dark mind space often. I embrace it for lack of a better word.

@Tython Did you ever struggle? What entails "embracing the darkness?"

@hamsterdance In the beginning, I'd just lament. Classic depression symptoms, right? Lay in bed and ignore everything and everyone. But eventually I learned to use that as motivation.

I guess the best way I can describe it is a kind of nihilism. If there's no point to it all, if there's just nothing after we die, then why mope til the end? Instead, find enjoyment while you can. If the end is nothing but an empty void, then I'll just make memories to reminisce.

I might not be describing it right. Not great at that.
