It might be pretentious and shallow but when people praise the comedy of Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, or Jim Carrey I kinda judge them.

@basilfawlty89 the new Happy Gilmore was God awful.

@KentuckyFriedFloozy I heard it started off okay, then became a cameo laden product placement the rest of the movie.

@KentuckyFriedFloozy I still liked The Wedding Singer and the original Happy Gilmore. But Sandler basically has been playing the same character for ages.

That's My Boy was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I rewatch The Room every year.

Although he does tend to Mary Sue himself a lot - irl Adam Sandler ain't gonna get Emmanuelle Chriqui, Salma Hayek or Jennifer Aniston into him.

@basilfawlty89 oh he definitely always makes sure the movie is in a tropical paradise and his co-star actress is gorgeous. He definitely stuck to a plan lol

But I grew up with Monty Python, Father Ted, Black Adder and Edwar Wright stuff.

@basilfawlty89 I'm more of a righteous gemstones, it's always sunny, arrested development type of fan.

@KentuckyFriedFloozy I haven't seen the other too, but adore Arrested Development.
Also, stuff like Archer and King of the Hill (yes, I know those two are animated).

@basilfawlty89 Thats the thing about Sandler. His first couple of movies and skits were okay. Especially as a middle schooler. He just has one trick andnits to annoy you into an uncomofortable chuckle. I feel all three are just that.

@MethDozer they are all formulaic.
But Sandler's early stuff still had some charm. Now it's just this unfunny guy that consistently makes bank from the schlock that scores low, because Sony and Netflix fellate him for some reason.
