I Express Myself Through Writing

Who is God?

I think that God, my God is a higher power, but more than that a collective higher power.
My God has no constraints, no bounds, is everywhere and nowhere, and yet that does not matter.
There is no time, no space, no thoughts, no words
I keep trying to put God in the universe and yet God does not exist there.
God exists in the spiritual realm, and even then, it seems like I am saying there is a nice tidy box in which God can be placed, and it just is not possible.
So God is spiritual, which is of no form nor thing.
I am trying to let go of all constraints that hold me,
I am letting go and letting God.
All that which afflicts me I will give to God.
An energy that surrounds my being, takes care of my every need, and protects me from harm.
Takes what troubles me, from me, and gives me serenity.

You really need to get out more hun!!

@Harriet03 just curious, why do you think I need to get out more? What do you think I would do or what should I do if I did get out more? How do you think it would change my idea of what or who God is?

My ideas come from a place of recovery and working a 12 step program. Once where there was nothing, I came to believe and in doing so I had to explore my thoughts about a higher power and what that was to me and what God meant to me. I guess i am greatly influenced by Emmett Fox's "Sermon on the Mount," interpretation. Is it right? Is it wrong? Who is to say? In recovery, the point is to take what i need to move along in my journey because it is a personal experience and everyone's journey is their own.

I will eagerly await your response, another view on my thoughts is always welcome, perhaps it will change my thoughts, perhaps it will not. I wish you well on journey whether you reply or not.

@mljenkins Thankyou for your best wishes. Can you start by confirming which God you are referring to? To date there's been over 3000.
We'll take it from there.

@Harriet03 I know there are several Gods, I know that beliefs in any of them is on a personal level. The God derived from Christianity would probably be the closest relatable God that I will refer to at this time. I do not, however adhere to Christianity, or it practices or any other religion for that matter. Mine is more of a spiritual journey.
