And skip showering? The temperature dial in my shower is malfunctioning and that doesn't help my attitude.

Too late. I showered. It was a little too hot, but I should be grateful I don't have to carry a bucket of water from a well to heat up over a fire. I'm grateful.

Of course! My shower plays up, and is difficult to maintain an even temperature. It's likely the thermostatic valve inside is scaled up.

Yes, of course you have permission. But you're not lazy to not deal with a malfunctioning temperature dial, it's the better choice.
