What is your morning routine??

I'm on leave and home at my parents house this weekend and I've deviated soooo far from my normal routine. But, I suppose, on leave we are supposed to ... that is the whole point.

So my normal routine goes as follows:

0400 - 0415
Wake up somewhere in this time range. By 0415 I'm up, bed made, changed into PT attire and starting my day. The start to that day begins with stretching and taekwondo forms.

0500
Run (35-45 minutes). Showered and in my uniform by 0600

0600
In my car and on my way to my office; breakfast on the way. Often a Dunkin bagel or breakfast sandwich.

0700
At my desk reviewing the overnight and prepping for the morning staff meeting at 0730.

But this morning, home on my weekend off, I woke up at 0815!!!!!!! What is your morning like?

0400-0415 wake up to go running. I can't even with you. Stop putting the rest of us to shame. Talk to the hand. 🤚

@ShadowSister My run isn't until 0500 😁

@sarabee1995 Last year I did a good job of running before work at 8 am a few days a week. This year my schedule got switched to start at 6:45. I'm on month seven of the switch now. I've still never gotten up a single time early enough to get in a run beforehand. I don't know how to get myself to go to bed before 11 pm (=2300). So yeah, 0400 seems absolutely absurd to me. I'm half jealous, half annoyed. 😂

@ShadowSister Your body clock will adjust to whatever schedule you provide it, and will do so quickly if you provide consistency.

Last year when I was back and forth to Europe (26 trips in fifteen months), I learned to proactively manage my body clock. It can be done.

@sarabee1995 It's not so much my body clock as it is my brain clock in reference to the real clock. I can't wrap my mind around going to bed an hour and fifteen minutes earlier. My start time changed, but I can't seem to change the meaning of 11 pm in my head.

@ShadowSister Ahhh, I see. Well yes, then that is the problem.

I don't think I necessarily assign any purpose to any particular clock-time. For me, it's all based on when do I need to be ready for what, and then working back from there. If I need to be on an early flight, then I set my bed time accordingly.

@sarabee1995 You have more willpower than I, my friend. When it's time for bed, I discover a 4-year-old inside me who throws a fit about not wanting to sleep yet lol.

@ShadowSister Lol... Ahh, yes, her. I know her well. I keep her in chains down in my basement. 😐

@sarabee1995 I'm not sure if that statement is inspiring or disturbing
