Living off grid away from society and wouldn't have it any other way

ArishMell · 70-79, M
I live in a suburban street close to shops, a regular bus service and other advantages. I used to envy friends living in rural villages but not now, and anyway I think I was really envying their financial ability to have bought homes there!

We need access to stores and medical facilities, so we need to be close to town. I would prefer having access to a shack far from town when I want to get away.

@exexec Exactly! That's why we have the motorhome. 🙂

Farther out. It's what I do now. Totally worth it. You just learn to stock up. Grocery list is a must. :)

I’m about eight miles outside of town. On a fairly sizable tract of property. Still with limited neighbors. That’s close enough for me.

I like being close to town for restaurants, shopping and medical. But, I want to be far enough away that me neighbors are not right on me. I still want some privacy.

@ToddpicogramakaSatan So.. I guess you never shake hands with the police? Is that a decent summary?
