If you could buy a house anywhere, would you buy close to town so you can get groceries easier, but then you have neighbours all the time and limited privacy, or would you move further out so you have limited neighbours, but then have to drive further to get groceries?

We need access to stores and medical facilities, so we need to be close to town. I would prefer having access to a shack far from town when I want to get away.

@exexec Exactly! That's why we have the motorhome. 🙂

I’m about eight miles outside of town. On a fairly sizable tract of property. Still with limited neighbors. That’s close enough for me.

Farther out. It's what I do now. Totally worth it. You just learn to stock up. Grocery list is a must. :)

Living off grid away from society and wouldn't have it any other way

I like being close to town for restaurants, shopping and medical. But, I want to be far enough away that me neighbors are not right on me. I still want some privacy.

@ToddpicogramakaSatan So.. I guess you never shake hands with the police? Is that a decent summary?
