When I was in Elementary school,I had to be barefoot in gym class.
It had it's ups and downs!

@DavidT8899 oh!, well that makes sense, you are less.prone to slip in bare feet then socked feet. So for safety reasons that makes sense.
We always did gymnastics in socked feet, for health reasons. And everywhere I've taught requires socked feet for gymnastics.
But when I was a kid, If we were outside the teachers always let us do gymnastics barefoot in the grassy area.
