Do people still gather around the kitchen table just to talk, hang out, etc

In my house growing up, the kitchen was where everyone would gather, whether we were eating or not. My dad would sit at the table with a beer while my brother and I would sit across from him, and we would just talk. Listen to music a lot too. My best friend and I would sit at the table and scrapbook for hours. We did our homework at that table too. It was nice. Cozy. Comforting. I don't see people doing that anymore. 😞
