If You Were Given $300 For Pocket Money For A Month, How Long Could You Make It Last?

@4meAndyou I know someone who couldn’t make that $300 last 10 days, overdrawn once again…goes through average $1000 a month frittering it away and other expenses are paid for.

@cherokeepatti Wow. My problem is I USE the charge cards to survive. This month I had $1000 in expenses, (or very near). My car had a problem, and needed an inspection also, my auto insurance came due and I pay for 6 months in advance, and now Best Buy is up for renewal. I would cancel best buy, but if I do that I will be sure to have a repair needed very urgently.

@4meAndyou this person gets everything done for her in regard to car insurance, repairs, maintenance, car tags….it doesn’t come out of the $300. She doesn’t even have a job to go to.

@cherokeepatti I usually have to buy quarters for my laundry room, and I can get by with $50 in quarters. The rest is for food...and I always get hungry and end up charging stuff on Instacart. Kitty Litter and cat food are all on my charge, also.

@4meAndyou this girl has access washer and dryer in the house she is renting with others….she has her rent & utilities paid for so only laundry supplies for expenses..no pets, no one else to provide for. I can see your situation and groceries are probably more expensive where you live than here. She has a car, could go down to Aldi store a couple miles away & get groceries, they are a lot less than Walmart’s prices here.

@aradia11 she is 21 years old, a student who is not working or going to school this summer, could have found a job right after finals, doesn’t attempt to.

@cherokeepatti Is she Native also, I gather she utilizes a stipend if so.

@aradia11 she is not and no most natives don’t get a stipend and unless they qualify for a special scholarship they may get some money and then it’s not automatic. I don’t know where people get the idea that all American Indians get “Stipends”.She gets grant money for school and blows through it like it’s nothing.
