First floor - In US it means the ground floor. In England it means the 1st floor above the ground floor 🙂

It’s only natural. Our languages have evolved separately.
@WintaTheAngle That’s true. And other countries’ languages have been incorporated into the U.S. dialect of English, as well as indigenous terms.
