I literally have some of those spines stuck in my foot right now from chasing dogs of my property barefoot the other day.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@Skippyskiptic Chasing dogs barefoot! Where you from bro?
Skippyskiptic · 41-45, M
@Nitedoc lol Georgia! Makes sense doesn't it
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@Skippyskiptic Of course. I grew up in Arkansas. Running barefoot is a southern thing.

Elessar · 26-30, M
Calcatreppola in my region

I've damaged uncountable tires because of those. And also my feet, but at this point I've developed a thick enough layer of skin and/or a high enough pain threshold to withstand them

* edit: I was today years old when I realized there's also a L between the "Ca" in the name lol
deadgerbil · 22-25
I once volunteered at a nature center and walked into one of these while in tall grass. It essentially ripped the plant off so I had the whole thing stuck to my pants
Elessar · 26-30, M
@deadgerbil Worst place for them to go is between your sock and your shoe
Matt85 · 36-40, M
Burs. My cat used to get them after going on adventures.
Montanaman · M
Moftherfuckers! Because when you step on one...That's exactly what comes outta your mouth. 😲😫🤬
Ontheroad · M
@Montanaman This, exactly this!
TexChik · F
Grass burs. We used to throw a stem full of them at each other. They are relentless. Goat heads...Those are nasty!
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
Probably just a bunch of swears tbh
I live in an area often referred to “the Sandhills”… so the common name in this region is “sand spurs”. 🙂

Surprised to see so many other names for them. 🤷‍♀️
Tarnished · 26-30, M
I call them stickers where I'm from.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@Tarnished for us stickers were always the tiny little ones that didn't hurt but cling really well to clothing.
Notsimilarreally · 31-35, F
@ViciDraco hmmm I thought that's what these were but apparently maybe these are worse than stickers
Tarnished · 26-30, M
@Notsimilarreally I dunno, I've always known them as stickers and that's what I hear everyone I know call 'em around where I live.
Yourguyinthecity · 51-55, M
I’ve hated those ever since I was 3 and my uncle stuck one on my shirt. Ouch!
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
I don't have a name for them. I just know they spark profanity.
I had some of these stuck to me last few days.
I call them sticky f*cks. 😂
Burs are horrid! Hate those
TakeCare87 · 36-40, M
@Bexsy I mean, even the name is kinda horrid. Should rename them bexsys
nedkelly · 61-69, M
In Australia we call these bindi's
@nedkelly
Ohh that’s new to me.
I've never seen those 😲
@NerdyPotato
Really? It’s like everywhere.
NerdySoph · 26-30, F
ugh i hate those 😅
Musicman · 61-69, M
Sticker burrs.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
Cuckle burs. They are pointy, sharp and have a hook on the spike ends so they stick to clothing big time. Pretty common around southern river banks and lands.
Mirage · F
I call that a flat tire on my bike!
They are called a "Goathead" weed here and yes highly ouch.
TakeCare87 · 36-40, M
@Mirage Good thing I'm here to kiss it better.👀
Zaphod42 · 46-50, M
Burrs. I have to pull them out of my dogs paws and fur after a walk in the summer…nasty lil things
Dawgsfan3 · 41-45, M
We had those on our farm
Fairydust · F

Slade · 56-60, M
