I often wonder about people who have really bad paranoia and the whole ID verification thing to have an online social media thing?

And yeah, I'm being sincere...

Like someone who wants to do things online, etc...
but they either:

A. Have legit and diagnosed paranoia about privacy

or

B. Have a crazy/abusive ex they're trying to hide from

Do you mean to give your ID to the admins of the social media site or just not wanting to show one's face or reveal some personal info they could be recognized by by people who know them in real life?

Because showing your ID to just anybody is a legitimate worry. You can literally use a photocopy of someone's ID to set up a bank account and take a loan in their name. 😐 It has happened before.

Like...no offense to anybody on here but if someone offered me work, I'd have to decline because I do have to put my full name and my full address on the invoice and that's a no no for me...After all the info and personal thoughts I shared on here, after all the scam stories I read from other people sharing here, I don't consider this place appropriate enough to share my name and address with anyone.

Yes, this. So much this

@Fishy Yep, this is one of the reasons why I struggle to actually try to sell my art. Maybe even the bigger problem is my doubts that the other side will be actually willing to provide their personal info to me because that needs to be on the invoice as well. Because let's say, yeah, I will promote on Deviantart or somewhere else with a new page with no personal history, so I'd be okay with sharing my name and address but how about the other side if they are just ordinary people who want a picture from me. Would they trust ME?

Yeah I mean...
It's like either:
A. Be a real person with real flaws, and make mistakes, innocently annoy the wrong person,

Or
B: have an online career and be an approval wh0re.

Those who shout the loudest tend to have the most to hide, as they say.

Or they just paranoid and self conscious as heck 😂
