Things that go bump in the night. (day)

Yesterday I was deep in the Aussie bush, beyond the black stump, miles from nowhere.
Sitting in my chair enjoying the nothingness when all of a sudden there is a load crash.
It sounded like a large, empty steel drum hitting the ground.
Baffled me, I continued sitting there in the bush, contemplating how grand it is being far from the maddening crowd

Was it this?

@Gusman that's the one! 👍🏻

@SpudMuffin I never went looking. Simply continued my contemplation for another three hours then went on my merry way

@Gusman best option.

Did you find out what it was?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@DunningKruger No, I never went looking.
One of those unexplainable things that happen from time to time.

The only plausible explanation is that you were sitting on a long drop taking a dump. 💩

@KiwiBird The only time I done that was in the long drop at Braddon River which flowed into Macqaurie Harbour in 1975
