Few days left in my 30’s

No other birthday has bothered me before but this one is hard. I went from planning life with my wife to planning life alone, an amazing job that I love to now being out hurt and being treated like I’m making it all up. I try so hard to look at the positive ya know the fresh start, time to let my body heal, time to explore etc but I am barely hanging on by a thread financially so there isn’t much I can do. Thinking as soon as I have enough funds I’ll pack up the truck and me and the dog will head to the cabin.
Did turning 40 bother anyone else or is this just everything catching up to me?

I turned 40 on a plane. It does slap a little bit, but you accept it before long. It's just a number. And the farther into your 40's you get, the more motivation you find to make changes for the second half of your life. I found much more patience for myself.

So yeah, we're old heads now, but we know more now from experience.

Nows when you start watching the young ones mess up and realize we all go through it.

It was during 2020 so I really didn't get to do anything about it. I'm honestly happier and more comfortable in my own skin now I'm in my 40s. My 30s were so hard, young kids, escaping an abusive relationship etc. I'm 45 now and I am having a lot of fun, took up mountain biking, and I'm not bad at it if I say so myself. It's time to reinvent yourself and go have a bit of fun.

@Hoodski Ouch! I've been experimenting with nicotine patches for pain recently and found them to work pretty well for me. Maybe try that 🤔
40 wasn't so bad, Turning 50 was pretty much awful. Not because of the age, but it happened in lockdown and my life turned upside down. Still coming to terms with it.

i have always been alone😟 at age 40, i was also out of work several months with a health problem no one would acknowledge existed. many doctors and emergency room could find absolutely nothing wrong. finally found the right person, only after the damage was done and now i live with chronic pain.

Age is just a state of mind. Midnight on your 40th birthday will feel no different than 11:59pm

@AngelUnforgiven very true
