Going on 11pm, and the war rages on outside unabated 🫩

I miss the way Santa Cruz handled this…for one hour, 9pm to 10pm the fireworks ban was lifted on certain beaches. At 10pm the beach was cleared and further detonations were fined.

And it worked…you could count on being able to sleep by 10:15.

Anyway, I just hope they’re done with the big blasts by midnight here where fines don’t seem to deter a thing 🫩

Men I spent a 7/4 in Missouri and it was loony tunes. Firework stores year round there and I guess the fourth is their best excuse to use them. Sounded like a war zone. Was absolutely insane. Where I’m from in northern California it wasn’t too bad, a lot of them being illegal I think. But yeah the animals need a break, and little kids that need to sleep. Gah.

@Notsimilarreally I grew up in Arkansas…same story there. As kids we used to go to one of the local firework stores, buy a small arsenal and go to the abandoned rock quarry and have a war 😂

I’m in SoCal now…it gets far crazier here than you’d think.
