In another universe, can I get a better mother?

Is it selfish...¿
Hm, have you ever been made fun of by your parents? Of course everyone has. But the point here is... Is it normal for your parents to tell negative sides or trivial things about you that don't even need to be told to their cousins or friends as entertainment or to prolong the conversation? In my opinion, this is a privacy issue, and she shouldn't say that to others, especially about her child. But unfortunately, she's not the only one doing that. Is that narcissistic? I really hate her, but I hate myself more for starting to act like her...

(Sorry for my bad english, cause it wasn't my first language ❤)

Having had a similar mother, there's no point in wishing for such. There is always other adversities.

The best you can do is to learn to deal with what you are given.

Yes, my own mother was very negative of me, all her life. I learned to ignore the negativity. And later in life, I was able to take care of both her and my father.

On top of the above mom was an alcoholic, all my life until her passing.
