Why do customers want to pay us the same as what they can "get it online" for?

Go ahead and buy it.

Then when you want it to work - how will you make that happen?

Technical products take trained people, who are in high demand right now and make a lot of money...but everybody thinks it costs nothing to keep a business open...

I think it's because of America's "customer is always right" policy back in the day.

Customers could go to any store and they could say store B is offering It for less what can you do?
Many stores were price matching and things of that sort but, the world has really changed and online markets are not the same as brick and mortar markets.

Also some people are just hagglers and they believe that it doesn't hurt to ask i.e. push for what you want.
