Why does he hate me?

I dont get it. We were good friends. A week before he was still saying "yay" when i said ill be attending class and asking me whats wrong when i was absent. Its been a month now and he hadnt spoken to me. Hadnt even looked in my direction. I dont get it. Our last text was me asking if he was okay because he was acting off. After I gave him his birthday present, it was like everything we ever did together was just gone. He never acknowledged me again. Never asked if i was okay. Never looked at me. Never waved at me. Never smiled at me. I dont know what i did wrong. I just want my buddy back. My buddy who argued over custody of our paper butterflies we spent hours folding and painting. My buddy who told me it didnt matter that he was spending his money as long as i liked notebook. My buddy who told me to call him whenever i ran away from home so he could be there and hear my troubles. What happened to us? Why wont you talk to me? Why wont you tell me whats wrong? I dont understand. I thought you liked me. Why arent you looking at me? Why are you talking bad about me? Why? I dont get it.

@Mudkip i did, in my last message i asked if i had done anything to upset him, he said no and brushed it off. Later on irl i asked him why he was acting off, he slapped my hand off his shoulder and said "dont touch me" with a glare. I dont get it.

@Mudkip i was thinking that too. But me and his girlfriend had a talk and she had no idea. She even tried asking him and he wouldnt even tell her. What confuses me the most is his sudden attitude, itd make sense if he grew distant slowly before ghosting me completely, but the night before he acted like i didnt exist, he still chatted with me casually and even joked hed crush my mini clay figurine i made, only to completely ignore me and it when i brought it to class the next day to show him.
