How do I ask for a hug

So I have this friend and he’s my only guy friend (IM TAKEN I SWEAR I DONT LIKE HIM LIKE THAT PLUS HE’S STRAIGHT) and I’m hanging out with him and I just want a hug from him even though we’ve been friends for 2 years I’ve never hugged him but I don’t want to just say “can I have a hug” so yeah please help me

I don’t really know since it’s probably different for guys because me and my friends always hug but if he genuinely is your friend and cares for you just tell him your not feeling so well lately and that you need a hug hope that helped
