The whole world knows me

I am schizophrenic and have the thought-broadcasting syndrome. It's a syndrome where you think that people know your thoughts. When it is particularly strong, in the end of winter and the start of spring, I feel like everybody knows me... I think unappropriate thoughts, and people get irritated. It's like they know, or feel what I'm thinking. And most of the time they dislike it. I can watch a youtube video from 1964, while I'm born in 1993, and people in the video will react to my thoughts. It's like I'm a monster everybody tries to avoid. Feels bad man... This could be a bigger and more in-depth post but I'm too drunk. So yeah. This is what bugs me very much about my life.

Mental illness is still an illness which is treatable. Hopefully you have good doctors who you trust and can communicate with easily that can help you in addressing your symptoms.

@windinhishair My therapist after two years of therapy had a epiphany that it's the medication that could help me. She recommended a good psychiatrist that costs money, but I visit a free psychiatrist every month, I feel that my problem can be solved mentally, not just with medication. I take medication though and it does help. So there's that...

@Schizophrenic101 I understand your thought process. I would urge you to be careful though. I have a good friend who has been schizophrenic since I met him 50 years ago this fall, and he is still trying to conquer it through mental effort. He's educated, intelligent, and is more self-reflective than any other individual I have ever known. And he still hasn't been successful. Medications do work for him though. His main problem is that he stops taking them to work through it mentally, and it just doesn't work for him.

@windinhishair Yes, one needs professional help with these problems... I stopped going to therapy about a year ago. Will return to therapy this fall. It really does help. The reason I say this is because the person by himself is limited to his own understanding of things, with psychological biases and prejudices and such, but a professional therapist can help work through the maze of uneducated thinking. Thanks for the feedback Sir

@Schizophrenic101 Yes, everyone has prejudices and biases, and consequently you need to find a therapist or psychiatrist who you connect with and share your thoughts with in a comfortable manner. Psychiatrists can prescribe medications that can help, and have seen many cases that they can use to help others. I have several close family members who are licensed psychiatrists and can help navigate a patient's own particular maze.

@windinhishair I do have such a therapist. She knows me and my problems well. It's the one I'll return to this fall. :)
