Have you asked for a raise at your current job?
I don't have a car nor a driving license but I am used to it and I'm not especially upset. I can imagine for you, your car feels like an extension of yourself almost. A freedom you're now without.
Is there any way to lend a cheap car so you can apply for the hotel job?
Or buy a cheap old one?

Yeah he just gave us a raise after I kept asking about it, but he's one of those that will give you 50 cents over minimum wage and think he's doing you this huge favor. My dad told me today they would just buy me a car, but I really don't want them to do that, they have helped me enough. You know, I guess I could try to lease a car if I wanted to go to that other job the next state over. Do you think I would be allowed to take it out of state?
Is there a Costco near you? It’s seriously a great company to work for, great pay, great benefits. It sounds like you need to consider a career change. I wish you all the best with your car, work, and life.

I have been working front desks at resorts and hotels for almost 26 years. And over the years I have wondered about a career change but I really can't think of anything I would be satisfied with. I have thought of literally EVERYTHING lol. I really feel like hotels are my home and I like it but it's just a matter of finding that next place that feels like home to me and pays decent enough as well
@swandfriends It’s always so hard, especially when you’ve been doing the same thing for so long. And you never even know what careers are out there unless you get lucky. Last time I was seeking a change I searched all different sorts of things on indeed and I discovered a lot of different career opportunities that way. I bet there a ton of jobs available that would require you exact expertise. Try searching hospitality, resorts, and specific talents/interest you have. If you dig deep enough, I’m sure you’ll find some pleasant surprises! Maybe even look on meetup.com for networking groups to help you get your foot in the door and learn of what opportunities are around you. Good luck!!
