Is it appropriate for a Man to Vent?

Should a Man be allowed to vent about the obstacles, difficulties & frustrations in his life or is he supposed to just keep them bottled up inside and act like nothing bothers him?

Edit**

Just so everyone knows, I don't personally need advice on this topic. Just curious to hear other peoples opinions on it.

Well, no one wants to see a (real) man whining and complaining about is victim-induced problems. Now, keeping things bottled up is not a good show of force either. As someone trained in therapy practices, I suggest you find productive ways to acknowledge your problems and work on resolving them. Simply complaining will not do anyone any good.

@MarkPaul To me venting isn't whinning, its just voicing your frustration.
@MarkPaul You do know pretending to be a medical professional is illegal right? And that providing professional advice online is also professionally problematic for actual experts. If you were what you claim to be you would know that.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm trying to help the young lad. Does everything have to centre around you?
@MarkPaul No, as always you are trying to make yourself look impressive to get validation from people on the internet and giving random advice and claiming it has medical backing puts you in dangerous territory.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I just know from my studies and field training that encouraging patients to think of themselves as victims is the wrong approach. Let's respect my expertise for a change.
@MarkPaul Again you lie about your training and expertise. Just know eventually that will land you on the wrong side in court.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm only establishing my training so the lad can see he's in safe hands. He has a right to know my credentials.
FragileHeart · 22-25, M
@MarkPaul I doubt anyone trained in therapy practice would use the term "real man" and talk about "victim-induced" problems.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@FragileHeart Well, that's where you are wrong and showcasing where "field" training comes in. The idea is to relate to our clients rather than speak like we're a talking textbook. I guess you could call it my bedside manner.
FragileHeart · 22-25, M
@MarkPaul The "real man" idea and the thought that certain problems aren't real because outsiders don't view them as severe enough are innherently toxic and bad for mental health. Why reproduce such thinking?
@MarkPaul Lets take a moment to look at just a small number of your claimed credentials. Your age is listed as 26-30.

You have at various points claimed to be a journalist, a psychologist, and a Nutritionist.

The academic educational requires for those 3 alone amounts to 22 years of study. And those are not the only credentials you claim to have.

See the problem?
@FragileHeart MarkPaul is a closet conservative which probably explains his take on this subject.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I guess you never heard of simultaneous study.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I have explained this to you so many times it is strange I have to go over it again with you. I am a centrist.
@MarkPaul 🤣 Wow. You are really doubling down on that lie.
FragileHeart · 22-25, M
@MarkPaul Centrists are just conservatives that are either in denial or in disguise.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I'm sure you are under some kind of misconception constructed on top of a misunderstanding.
@FragileHeart Yep, or conservatives afraid of the PR problems of being seen as a conservative.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@FragileHeart That only confirms that in addition to knowing nothing about the latest therapy techniques, you also are unaware of the fundamentals of political science.
@MarkPaul And back to childish insults I see.
@MarkPaul Unfortunately you have proven conclusively you don't understand either field.
wanderer1991 · 31-35, M
@MarkPaul I get you might be trying to be helpful but calling me a "young lad" when I'm older than you is cringe 😂
@wanderer1991 He calls me that and I am technically old enough to potentially be his father.
FragileHeart · 22-25, M
@MarkPaul Enforcing someones reason for having mental health problems is a new therapy technique?sounds promising.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@wanderer1991 Well, I'm just trying to establish a professional boundary. It's really for your own good.
